Using Weighted Grades

Final grades can be weighed based on Assignment groups. If an instructor calculates grades based on points, then weighing grades is not necessary.

To weight graded based on Assignment groups, select the More Options menu in the top right corner and choose “Assignment Groups Weight”. A menu will appear where you can set the appropriate weight for each Assignment group.

➜ Assignment group weights can include decimals and the total percentage of all assignment groups can be set above or below 100%. Also, if an assignment group is weighted to zero percent, any course items added to the group will not count toward the final grade.
