Using the Assignment Index Page

In Canvas, an Assignment is any graded course activity. Users can view all graded content on the Assignments Index Page. Graded content will include any Assignments, graded Discussions, and graded Quizzes.

➜ Graded Discussions and Quizzes will also appear in their respective index pages.

As an instructor, you can also add Assignment groups, create an Assignment, and modify Assignment settings.

The order that Assignments appear in the Assignments Index page, is the default order they will appear in the Gradebook. Assignments and Assignment groups can be rearranged by a simple drag and drop.

It is recommended to hide the Assignments Index Page from students’ view and use Modules to add Assignments, Quizzes, and Discussions to create a course flow.
