Creating Announcements
You can create an Announcement to share important information with all users within your course and with users in sections of a course. You cannot however, send to individual groups or individual people with in a course. To add an Announcement select the “Add Announcement” button.
The RCE will appear. Give the Announcement a title and enter any content in the editing box below the title. By default, Canvas will send your Announcement to all sections within your course. To select specific sections for your Announcement, select the “Post to” drop-down menu and select sections from the list provided. If your course does not have sections, Canvas will still show the All Sections option, and all course users can view the Announcement.
Under Options you can customize the following:
- Delay posting
- Allow users to comment
- Enable podcast feed
- Allow liking
