File Upload Assignments

The connection between Canvas and Microsoft Office 365 provides the opportunity for students to upload work from their personal OneDrive account.

      1. Create an assignment and select Online as the submission type.
      2. Check the option for File Uploads.
      3. Students can then browse their OneDrive and submit the file without needing to set sharing permissions (these can include a Google Doc and mp4 file that you would need to download).
      4. Instructors can then provide feedback in SpeedGrader.

Adding File Upload Submission Types for Assignments

With the Microsoft Office 365 integration, students can also upload files directly from their OneDrive. Canvas creates a snapshot of the file at the time of submission, and instructors can provide feedback in SpeedGrader.

Submit file from OneDrive option

Remember, you cannot test Office 365 Assignments in Student View because the Test Student does not have their own One Drive.
